Que é Expectancy Theory?

Expectancy Theory

O Expectancy Theory do vencedor Vroom trata do motivation e da gerência. A teoria de Vroom supõe que o comportamento é um resultado das escolhas conscious entre alternativas. A finalidade das escolhas é maximize o prazer e minimizar a dor. Junto com Edward Lawler e Porter de Lyman, Vroom sugeriu que o relacionamento entre o comportamento do pessoa no trabalho e os seus objetivos não era tão simples quanto foi imaginado primeiramente por outros cientistas. Vroom realizou que o performance de um empregado está baseado em fatores individuais tais como a personalidade, as habilidades, o conhecimento, a experiência e as abilidades.


A teoria da expectativa diz que os indivíduos têm jogos diferentes dos objetivos e podem ser motivated se tiverem determinadas expectativas.


Expectativas do Expectancy Theory

  • Há uma correlação positiva entre esforços e performance,
  • O performance favorável resultará em uma recompensa desejável,
  • A recompensa satisfazará a uma necessidade importante,
  • O desejo satisfer à necessidade é forte bastante fazer o esforço de valor.

O Expectancy Theory de Vroom é baseado na seguinte opinião três.


Opinião do Expectancy Theory

  1. Valence. Consulta às orientação emocionais que os povos prendem com respeito aos resultados [recompensas]. A profundidade querer de um empregado para recompensas extrinsic [dinheiro, promotion, tempo livre, benefícios] ou intrínsecas [da satisfação]. A gerência deve descobrir o que os empregados apreciam.

  2. Expectativa. Os empregados têm expectativas e níveis diferentes da confiança sobre o que são capazes de fazer. A gerência deve descobrir que recursos, treinamento, ou supervisão os empregados necessitam.

  3. Instrumentality. A percepção dos empregados se receberão realmente o que desejam, mesmo se for prometido por uma gerente. A gerência deve assegurar-se de que as promessas das recompensas estejam cumpridas e que os empregados estão cientes daquele.

Vroom sugere que opinião de um empregado sobre a expectativa, o Instrumentality, e o Valence interativo psicològica. Nesta maneira criam uma força motivational, tal que o empregado agirá em uma maneira que traga o prazer e evite a dor. Esta força pode “ser calculada” através de uma fórmula:


Fórmula do Expectancy Theory


Expectativa do Motivation = do Valence x (Instrumentality).


Esta fórmula pode ser usada indicar e predizer coisas como: satisfação de trabalho, escolha ocupacional, a probabilidade de permanecer em um trabalho, e o esforço que um pôde expend no trabalho.
