Fayol's 5 Management Roles (Functions)
Fayol mentioned 5 roles (also called functions, actions):
1. Prevoyance.
2. To organize.
3. To command.
4. To coordinate.
5. To control.
Apart from these 5 managerial functions or roles in my view:
6. To empower employees plays a crucial role in management excellence.

6th Management Role I agree on this one. There are employees, workers, and empowered employees. There are managers and there are leaders.

Additional Role of Managers I totally agree. Employees are our internal customers, hence it is imperative that we develop them. They will then be empowered to handle challenges including external customers complaints. This will assist your entity to retain your customers and have a competitive edge as it is very difficult and costly to recruit new customers.

Empowerment is Human Capital Development Employee empowerment, employee focus, people development, etc. are basically focused on human capital development.
It is obvious that organisations are becoming ambidextrous and only ambidextrous people can manage it effectively.
A good manager should focus most on development of his or her employees and tailor them towards having the right attitude and technicalities required to perform. Managers should note that activities required to achieve results in any organisation are based for 80% on attitude and 20% on tools. Hence the need for total attention to managing attitudes. And employee empowerment is key.

6 Management Roles! It is necessary to empower employees as they are the engine of the organization. I totally agree with employee empowerment as an all important additional managerial function.
This aspect of management should be developed and practiced.
