RISK in Principles Fayol I believe risk is included in Fayol's first 3 principles. That is: if there is adeqate Discipline, Authority and Proper Division of Work, I believe that there shall be minimal risk.

There is also External Risk! As risks are not confined to only internal environment, no matter how effective are the principles, we can not do way with them.

Risk in Principles of Management If we study the principles in the way it has been explained there are no risks involved.
The "born" manager can understand the principles and also implement in the right spirit whatever odds one is facing.
The "made" manager will only be able to implement if the subordinates also understand the principles. The risks here are bigger: let us take the first where discipline is involved. Nobody wants to follow the discipline regime and to follow one has to monitor constantly which takes away valuable time of the manager.

Risks in Fayol's Principles There is a risk, related on applying these principles strictly without regarding an organisation's structure, because companies have different structures depending on each kind of industry. For example centralization is not optimal when it's combined with complex bureaucracy, delaying critical decisions.

Risks: 14 Fayol's Principles. Yes, there are risk in each 14 principles. The only way to deal with them is through proper communication in each department in order to minimize them until we zeroed out those risks :-).

Fayol's Treatment of Risk Gentlemen, Jay poses a really interesting and timely question. Another way to answer it is to look to page 1 of Fayol's book, arguably the first written on the emerging discipline of strategic management.
On page 1of his book, Fayol lists 6 activities common to all enterprises. He uses the word "activities" but it is plain to see they are "strategies".
Fayol was telling us there is a system of strategies common to all organizations. If you read through the list, you will find Risk is one of them.
