Employee Relations - Frames of Reference

I am required to produce a report regarding how employee and employer interests can be reconciled in a pluralist organisation. One of my main arguments is that of social partnership, but could anyone point me in the direction of another recommendation?

Common Goals

If the organization is to survive employers need to ensure it is competitive. However, to be innovative and creative it must also engage employees and look for out of the box ideas. Employees want an organization to survive to ensure they have a job (and hopefully a career). This means the employer and the employee must look for common goals to support the economic viability of the organization. I believe this could include organizational and work efficiencies and effectiveness.

Employee Engagement and Productivity Agreements

Pluralism... Diversity. I take it that issues of employee engagement should be part of your recommendations.
Also you need to highlight the need to bring into light issues of negotiating productivity agreements so that every employee's performance is linked to their pay. I believe that if both the organisation and the employees (both as individuals and groups) understand the relationship between pay and productivity... a great deal of reconciliation in the interests of these parties can be achieved...
I recommend that both the organisation and the employees agree first on bottom line issues, for example, customer satisfaction... Then other things come.
