Could McKinsey's 7-s model be used as a standard/norm for auditing control over projects in organizations. Anyone with experience on this matter?

7S can be Used to Audit Projects

It is indeed possible to audit projects using the 7S framework:
- Shared values imply project goals/quality/key objectives;
- Strategy can be viewed as the design/approach/project plan;
- Structure defines the communication plan;
- Systems can represent operational tools/methods/mechanisms;
- Staff can represent the resource plan;
- Skills can represent required know-how/training plans/knowledge management;
- Style can be represented as governance model.
This is a high-level interpretation and hope it helps.

Can the 7-S Model be used in evaluating programs and not the whole organization?

@Nancy Tagle: Yes, it can serve as a set of high level criteria to assess a program or large project, evaluating if and how the program supports the operating model that was defined earlier on by the organization.

Using the 7-S Model for Evaluating Programs

@Nancy Tagle: I agree the model can be used to evaluate both a program and an organisation.
I find the model very comprehensive and it can used to understand and evaluate how effective an organisation/program is across the 7 S-es and inform possibilities and focus areas for improvement.
