Change Dynamics of People Being in the Organization for a Long Time

It seems to me as if the longer people stay in an organisation, the more resistance they develop to any change initiative - despite their advantages. Is this impression of mine correct?

Change Dynamics of Employees who are Serving for a Long Time

I agree with you Charles. When people stay long in an organisation, they seem to get used to the status quo. Everything to them seems to be fine, even when change is inevitable.
I think it is important that people are moved from one area to another to facilitate development within organisations. If someone has stayed long in a certain position, they should arrange someone to take over. A leader who stays long on a position simply because there's no one to replace them is not a good leader. Good leaders always have someone to takeover from them.

I fully agree with both of you guys. This has be the problem in our continent especially in politics. Today innocent civilians are killed in Libya because of resistance to change and we need to go on the street in order for our leaders to step down.

Differences in Willigness to Change Between New and Very Experienced Employees

The trouble with longer employees is that they think they know all and they need no advices.This then becomes a cycle of poor performance and low morale when new ideas are introduced they are quick to down play them.
The creative persons then become frustrated and it just continues to be a cycle of undermining each other which in turn is not healthy for the organisation.
