Public Sector BPR Through E-Governance Initiatives

In the public sector field of a government like India, implementing a 100% BPR would be difficult. Because the waste processes & positions identified out of such exercises would be of greater portion and the government itself would be unsure on how to cleanup such wastes.
Rather, the initiatives to bring many such processes under the E-Governance umbrella is a good trade-off to improve the processes (especially done through ppp business model) and at the same time leaving the "government workforce" greatly unaffected.

	BPR in Public Sector Through E-governance Implementing change is always difficult, be it in public sector or private sector or even at an individual level. Key to success in implementing a BPR or performance improvement initiative is the initiative's ability to communicate the objectives clearly and regularly. In my experience I have observed that a human component is critical for long term success.

	E-Governance Initiatives Through BPR In my opinion, E-Governance initiatives are derived from a properly conducted BPR and are the outcomes rather than the primary concepts.

	BPR in Public Sector Using the Internet and Apps Surely the numerous self-service initiatives, using the internet, apps and mobile phones are a good way of improving traditional inefficient processes. I agree with Suresh that a strong point of these approaches is that only little cooperation (or none at all) of the many people working in the old bureaucracies is needed.
