Effective Project Communication and Teamwork
To ensure team collaboration (teamwork) and tasks completion, effective communication must be implemented for projects.
Communication is the most important tool when handling large complex global projects:
- At project kick off, rules must be laid down on this aspect, the do's and don'ts and which method to communicate on issues.
- This must be clearly detailed out in a document that everyone on a particular project is made aware of the requirements.
- A point of escalation for each role must be identified to ensure continuity and success of the project.
- Approach to phone calls versus emails must be detailed out - which appropriate tool to be used in which type of situation.
- A non-response to email or phone call for any critical request of over 24 hours must be followed up with the back up team. The usage of out of office notification must be adhered to if any particular person is going to be away from their working area for more than 3 hours.
Most of the problems we see today in any industry is failure or breakdown in communication pathway that leads to serious situations or risks.

Effective 2-Way Project Communication Absolutely. Communication problems lead to misunderstandings and politics.
It is important to make sure that the right message is well communicated to all and appropriate timely feedback is reviewed.

Teamwork Friendship is Important to Resolve Communications Issues I was requested to assemble a team of the best engineers and after hours, devise a program to be used as a major methodology for an important practice of the organization. We decided to start by walking together every night and socialize before going back to the conference room and work on the project.
We ordered pizza and had dinner together and discuss all elements of the project in a friendly atmosphere.
We had a budget of 20k to be distributed between the members of the team at completion.
After a few weeks of this assignment, we produced a document that drove millions in profit to the organization and created the blue print of a new technology that we never thought it was possible. All members of the team were compensated according to their consensus. I realize that communicating well is not enough in a project, but we need to go beyond and establish good relationships that will continue for ever.

Communication in Project I agree if there is good communication in a project, the chances of the project failing are low.
But if there is poor communication, then there is every chance that the project will become a failure.
For communication especially within a project to be effective, it should be:
A. Timely
B. Directive
C. Frequent
D. Are we listening (from a project manager's perspective).

How to Achieve Teamwork in Projects Project teams do the work of projects. Teams as individuals and as a group can take responsibility for certain components of leadership (supervision, coordination, problem-solving). But how far can this go? Can a large team take the accountability for the entire success or failure of a project?
Project teamwork is anything that improves commitment, communication and cooperation within the project team. Team members must subvert their egos for the needs of the team. An individual may be given an assignment that is not the best use of their strength but it is for the best of the team. This willingness is the commitment. If the team is open, members will voice opinions, make recommendations, and contribute to the strength of the team, communication and cohesion.
The team should talk about cares and concerns. They should be open to talk about how to win the next game. A team must first listen in order to be heard. Finally, the team must cooperate. They must help each other out to achieve the mutual goal. They have to be unselfish in giving time to the team and to practice. For a strong player to improve, they must compete against stronger players. Players build each other up by giving all they have.
Importantly, project teamwork needs accurate and on-time information to make teamwork work. Modern project management software such as 8Manage can provide instant single-copy-of-the-truth project information. Having the “right” project management software for your project is essential to enable teamwork.
