Importance of Ethics in Public Administration Service in public administration is a public trust. When the people served do not see in people in public offices the right things they have to do when they are providing services to them, how could they earn the trust and respect?
Without ethics there is no basis for distinguishing the right from the wrong.

Ethics in Public Administration Service above self, the rotary motto, explains the main rule on this argument clearly. Efficiency, impartiality, honesty, those are mandatory duties for everyone charged to serve people.
It's more easier to do that if you apply the rule also in private, family and community.

Ethics in Public Administration Ethics in general is sum of values with which a human being in society grows up. Public administration works for society, by society and in society. Values varies from person to person, which form society, and are not something which can be quantified in terms of statistical data.
Honesty, integrity, compassion, truth, to stand for a cause are some of examples of values. The more values a person has, the chances are more for him to do a fair job in public administration.
Corruption and other negative forces rise with decrease of ethics in society.
Ethics sensitise the society and make humans more humane.

Ethics in Public Administration I totally agree with Ajay.
The values that are at the basis of ethics in public administration are usually described in the laws of each country. Almost in my country any public officer must take an oath in which she/he swears or promises to respect it.
