Ethics versus Values versus Morals Values are the set of beliefs that something is right, having certain degree of adherence to be retained in the behaviour (ethics). Ethics are the behaviours based on certain values. Morals are universally accepted beliefs.
In other words:
- VALUES: Prescriptive beliefs with some degree of adherence. Example: "Honesty is the supreme priority in our business".
- ETHICS: Behaviour based on values i.e. practicing values. Example: “We never cheat our customers, not even for smallest value".
- MORALS: Universal beliefs. Examples: Honesty, Truth, Justice, Non-violence, Respect for Humanity, etc.
