What is the Watchdog Model?The Watchdog Model is the notion that the mass media are adversaries of government and of large corporations and watchdogs for the people, in particular the powerless and those who are not well organized in society. Many journalist perceive themselves as defenders of justice and truth. They believe they should not represent the interests of politicians or top executives.
