The cross functional team approach is a phenomenon frequently found in project-based firms, where companies tend to address improvement specific initiatives "à la" project, defining requirements, establishing a project team, appointing a project manager and assigning him/her the task to achieve the requirements.
The project team then is usually a multifunctional team and can be also multi-ethnic in a multinational company.

	Project Teams are Often Cross Functional I agree with your writing Eugenio. We might take this one step further as well. Typically many project teams are cross-functional. Because if the problem that has to be solved is functional only, it can often be solved and organized within the functional organization itself. A project team is then sometimes not needed, because the people can discuss issues when meet each other in regular meetings or at the coffee machine.
