Action Research is About What Works in the Real World

What I like about action research is that it appears to be about doing what works in the real world. Find out what is likely to work, do it, refine it...
The most 'attractive' aspect for me is the zero or little place for theories, ideologies, or principles, which are often 'selectively substantiated biases' anyway.
On the other hand, one trouble though: what about the legitimacy of action research without reference to any 'established' frameworks?

	Action Research is About what Works in the Real World You really hit the nail on head! Action research really is what works in real world. I know from my own personal experience as a registered nurse, that I practice this daily when I use our nursing process, which essentially has 5 steps: Assess, Diagnose, Plan, Implement and Evaluate. I feel the process is so dynamic that as you move through the different phases, you achieve legitimacy as you work through the various phases. I know action research works... It is a great tool for problem solving and the evolution of change management. I believe this is what gives action research it's legitimacy.

The "framework" and foundation of action research is the application of the scientific PDSA method, and the open-minded recognition of complexity in human activity systems, the futility of determinism, and the uninhibited desire for the development of greater collective intelligence!
