Summary

What is Agile Absorption?

Agile Absorption is a term coined by Donald Sull in HBR Febr 2009 indicating the ability or capacity of a company or organization to establish and maintain the right combination and balance between Organizational Absorption and Organizational Agility.

According to Sull, absorption and agility are not to be seen as alternatives but as complements, with the balance shifting as circumstances change. The trade-offs between the two poles should be actively and consciously managed.
