WHY PEOPLE LEAVE
Rod Chammudzi  Management Consultant, South Africa

People don't just leave their organisations. In most cases, they leave their managers

Most often employees leave organisations and at that point an exit interview is done where the employer expects the employee leaving would be open about his/her reasons for leaving. due to the culture of victimisation that exists in most work places, employees are not free to divulge all even at that stage when one may say they have their both legs out of the door.

After having some informal chats with close freinds that have themselves jobhopped, I picked up that when an employee leaves, it is that their direct reports are the main cause of their leaving and not that they dislike the organisations they are leaving. most have said, they would willingly go back if their direct reports left the organisation.
